Thanked: 237There was a really good sale (50% off) on Camacho pre embargo sticks a few weeks ago. Have any of you tried those? Apparently it's not very much pre embargo in there, but enough to know it's there.

Thanked: 237I would like some advice from the more knowledgeable gentlemen active in this thread. My fiance is going to Turks and caicos at the end of the month. I want her to visit the cigar shop on the island that reportedly sells authentic, verified real, cuban cigars. Is there a particular brand/type I should ask for? Is it too risky, assuming she might get ripped off? I know the airport has a walk in humidor, but I'm not sure she could find the right ones there... thanks

Thanked: 3Cuban cigars are one of the most counterfeited items.
Be wary
Only purchase from a reputable factory authorized retailer, I've come accross fakes at airport duty free shops
Be very very very carefull

Thanked: 237Yea I'm kinda nervous. I read several online reviews of an authorized retailer on the island. The same shop runs the duty free at the airport. I found positive reviews online, from cigar afficianado, so I'm hoping everything works out. I wish I was going to make sure things went smoothly, but that's not the case. I found a top 10 list of Cubans, so I'll give her that to go by. Thanks for the input.

Thanked: 237I'm relatively new. I have many, many cigars. The obsession is likely due to the rarity/exclusivity of a real cuban. My favorites so far have been padron 1964, 1926, family reserve 46 year, gurkha yakuza, man o war, rocky Patel 50th, aging room 101. I have a box of fuente opus x love affair, lost city, and god of war assortment of which I have yet to try.
