Smoking a Cohiba Lanceros 2001 tonight. This absolutely classic Cuban cigar delivers flavours of such complexity and finesse that I am literally floored. Paired with a Highland Park 18 and pure Norwegian glacier water life feels complete.

A day on the golf course, which meant: La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor, Jaime Garcia Riserva Especial, followed up at home with a Jaime Garcia Riserva Especial LE 2011 and now an Oliva Serie O Robusto.

Smoking a divine H. Upmann Monarcas rolled at the Jose Marti factory, Habana in the late 1990`s. It is always interesting to compare the Sir Winston and the Monarca, both Churchill size cigars from the same marca. Both are among my absolutely favorite cigars.

I rather like Lanceros myself! Though corona's are about my favorite these days (more of them).
As you can see from the below photo, I am continuing on with my search for my "go-to stick." My every day cigar... one 5 pack at a time. One viola at a time lol. I am on a Drew Estate kick right now.
I have to admit that though I enjoy the Undercrown, I find them a little over rated. The the two larger sizes I have tried so far have been disappointing compared to the MUWAT and the Joya de Nicaragua "Antano." Unfortunately none of these come in a lancero (that I know of anyway).
Actually - the oily Antano dark corojo was remarkably good!! I might have to spring for a box of 4.5 x 52's !David

Will pick something reminding me of old school Cuban cigars tonight. I think I have a box of January 05 Partagas Serie P. No. 2 in my largest cabinet. This is one of the earliest box codes of P. No. 2`s released. The smell hitting you opening the box can easily be compared to your finest shaving experience. Very close to the smell of a mature Leoville Las Cases Bordeaux, Cuban tobacco, cedar, leather, earth, ripe red fruit and spices from the cask. Add some white pepper and espresso crema and you are into Partagas heaven. Time to fire it up slowly with my St.Dupont Ligne 2.
Fluidum with the Cuban Pyramide will be the outstanding Ardbeg Uigeadail Single Malt from Islay, Scotland. Often I find the very peaty whisky`s from Islay to be one dimensional because of the camp fire overwhelming everything, not so with the Ardbeg Uigeadail. A perfect expression of the finest destillate from Islay stored in both Bourbon and Sherry casks blended close to perfection and released at cask strenght. I use Riedel cognac glasses drinking whisky of this quality. A standard open "whisky glass" ruins the experience, and if you add ice as well you kill it instantly. Those are just my personal preferances:-))Last edited by ama015; 10-21-2013 at 11:15 PM.
