Years ago I bought a pound of it, along with a lot of other various stuff. The FVF sort of sat in a cabinet until it had crystals of sugar on the top like I had read about. It is a mild flavor, especially compared with a McClelland VA. What I found was that by mixing some in with other tobaccos it enhanced them and I came to like it quite a bit that way.
I didn't rub it out into other blends, but alternated a pinch of FVF with a pinch of whichever other, until I filled the bowl. That worked out very well for me with whatever it was I was smoking at that time. Mostly 965, Robusto, Rum Flake, among others that I don't really recall offhand.
