Tonight's pipes............
Work was the Rossi Lucca 8320EX at work with Boswell's premium Burley . At home just clenching on the Rossi Lucca 8121EX listening to Deep Cello meditation music. Getting in the season regardless of all the other chaos going on.
Love the Rossi's a lot these days.

No Pics tonight, I did the Peterson 999 again with some Boswell's best aromatic. Before anyone screams Covid I have always had a crap sense of smell since living in Denver and I'm always stuffed up. Beyond that I can taste curry just fine but tobacco sometimes, well, I just don't taste it unless it's Latakia or Virginia so all I can say about Boswell's best is it was good,no bite, smooth taste and if there is any casing on it I can't tell you. So all in all it was a decent smoke all around.
I am the same. No great sense of small and moderate taste. No reason for me to pay big bucks for expensive wine
Just got in some S Gawith Mayor CH Flake. I can smell the cocoa , barely
This is as close as I will get to an aro
Glad to know I'm not alone.I rarely breath clear in the nose.......sucko !!

Not sure really it's marked an 8320 EX which translates to a extra large 320. All the Lucca's are larger sizes of their smaller counterparts.

He doesn't mark the 8 on the numbers here but it's this line.
So I have the 121,302 and 803. They are bigger but they all smoke like champs.....
So you actually might have the same pipe.

That an old police 38 ?? Nice, nice and nice. I had contemplated one day getting a Boswell custom made but I got enough good pipes now I reckon and I'll spend the money elsewhere. Like maybe use it towards a new kilt ??!!
I love moustache mugs but, oh what a biznatch to clean ,especially under the mouth area. Mines plain white I like the duck on yorn.:)
Oh and by the way Jeff the killer sends his regards Bwahahahahaha !!!!

Happy Hollerween to you too Jon !! Just getting off of work so maybe post more a little later here. Good to hear from ya man. Can't believe it's pretty much you me and Rolodave........where have all the pipe smokers gone too ?? Don't say died either please.:(
Not dead but only check in here once in a while. Quit smoking my pipes a couple years ago before having a few surgeries to help with healing time. Still miss it and if the doctor ever says my time is ending I will get my tobacco out of the cellar.
Stopped shaving three years ago when I retired. Think ZZ Top.
Glad to see some of the “old guys” are still here.
Well then, first it's great to hear from ya man. Sorry to hear about the surgeries. if it helps any I got diagnosed with DB2 a couple years ago now and initially I was coming in for leg edema.I was told to quite pipe smoking till after I healed and learned quickly without too much consequence that it makes a difference.
But also to play the devil if you feel your getting up in tooth and short for this world then heal and moderately enjoy the years left with some Briar and smoke. but either way All is shiny for now right. Besides you still can sit around this pot stove any time just hold or clench your pipe maybe but always welcome and also......I never did the ZZ Top thing which is popular these days, but I say Cooool ! You may rest your briar but you can't keep a good piper down.:tu

My New Year's pipe is a Comoy pot with a mix of Boswell's premium Burley and a little pinch of Sutliff Butter Rum aromatic.
God how I miss McClellan. and I just had Dejavu ??
I will have to try some Boswell. Never had it. But I don't do aros
Truth be told I don't know why I bother with aromatics because they just disappoint me most of the time but I'm always searching anyway. Got a couple of tins of Lane 1q which is not bad but just really can't seem to find the void filler for the McClellen you know ? Hitting the rack now. just pulled a double and got to be back at it at 4. Happy New year !
Don’t smoke a pipe at all anymore, so forgive me if I trespass in this thread.
When I did smoke a pipe, I enjoyed Erinmore and Erinmore Flake. Loved the aroma as did others in the vicinity. I did that until I loaded a large bowl with the Flake and wound up passing out after an hour and a half smoke. Wonder if I had nicotine poisoning.
I also felt that I was losing my sense of taste. Great aroma, but, for me anyway. too strong an after effect.
First I heard of someone passing out from a pipe.
There are some strong blends you do not want to smoke on a empty stomach.
So true to form the Butter Rum let me down just like all the other aromatics. gurggly, wet, burney sigh............
Don't get me wrong, I'm more of a hybrid piper. I like burleys and Virginia blends mostly and some fall into that weird non aromatic aromatic category which is what I loved about McClellends 2000 fragrant matured cake bulk. it was a Virginia with a light casing but didn't smoke like an aromatic. It was so good...was. And I smoked the Frogmorton Blends when they were in their golden age too. I always want to believe theirs an aromatic out their that is just what it's described as but I always find that is only true for tin sniffing. At least in my perception anyway. I've had the lane before and it's an easy enough smoke but I will continue on in my search. That half and half was my first real codger smoke and I found it to be like a giant cigarette eek ! I started out being a MacBaren liker but everything was to burney, Capstan the Jrr Tolkien fav..was bland as heck as was Erinmore. Orlicks closed up my throat because of the perique which is too peppery for me What a dilemma ha ha. The Boswells Premium Burley so far has been the best bet but I feel like I want or need something more. Picky little critter ain't I. Or just plain nutters !:aargh:
