My Churchy in the same finish gets warmer than all my other pipes, but that could be due to the higher and thinner walls.

Having a vacation of 3 weeks. Wintertime is coming so i have to make my old house ready for the cold season.
Now having a break from making firewood. Commonwealth from vintage Oldenkott with meer insert.

It is getting better now that I've got a dozen or so bowls through it. I had a tiny bubble in the finish on the rim from smoking too hot, but it seems to have smoothed back out. I've read that Petes have a long break-in, but are worth it in the end. That's consistent with my experience with the two new ones I've bought. They seem like they are just starting to break in now. Last night's smoke was fantastic. You just have to take it slowly. Originally Posted by Nightblade
