Squadron Leader is one of my favorites too.
I like to smoke calabash in the evening, because it can take a long time.
I can smoke Flakes or Plugs for about 2 hours and a half.
It's a large pipe.=)

Erinmore flake in my bent Meer. Summer is usually reserved for cigars, but was perfect for a pipe and a good book...
A pic of my pipe, which has turned a beautiful gold after many years of smoking...

Brigham pipe with squadron leader for a relaxing smoke tonight.
I've noticed tho that when I smoke the staining on the pipe comes off on my hand. That can't be a good thing right?

I found a shop about an hour away that while specializing in cigars it sells pipes and pipe tobacco. I was extreamly tempted to pick one up and would have is I wasn't moving to a smoke free campus (only place you can smoke is on the top of parking garage)
Finally getting some cooler weather :tu Its about time to break out the TRG Ambernosewarmer and smoke some Escudo Navy Deluxe
I've never heard about such thing. I have no experience of any kind on Brigham pipes. Could it be that it isn't actually stained but finished with some other method (coloured wax or varnish etc). Properly stained and dried item, be it pipe or any other, shouldn't leave no color.
I've seen that on two pipes, one was my friend's Brigham, the other was my Vander Elst. But it only left staining on pipe cleaners, not on the hand while smoking.
Good evening Gents,
Time to start my friday evening again.

I've been smoking this little pipe lately, just one or two puffs at night (I gave up smoking cigarettes on the 1st of January). It's marked 'ROPP Junior' on the bottom. The bowl (which appears to be a 'whole' branch of something or other is cracked, but it still works OK. The stem also seems to be a 'whole' branch of something or other. It's very nice and light...

Those old Ropp's are nice pipes - I have a few myself. They are made from Cherrywood trees and the shanks are actual branches from the trees. Good smokers!

I had a Ropp once... It was an eBay find... I had a stem made for it from Walker's... I never had good luck with smoking it... I think it was the way the chamber was drilled... I was tempted to take a drill to it... I traded instead...
I actually wanted to fix the split in the bowl. I got my son to get some pottery clay from a friend (not wanting to use chemicals (illogical, I know, since tobacco has one or two), that didn't work, but I find it works OK anyway, even with the crack. The lightness is what I like. It'd be interesting to know why they made 'junior' pipes. This came in a set for last Father's day with a much larger Ropp; same sort of style and wood...
Good morning friends.

What's this about a mini shave brush tamper? Where can I get one?? Actually I'd love a barbershop pole tamper
These cute brushes you get from Muehle. It is commercial.
You get it if you buy products from Muehle.

Today has been an awesome day for me so I just had to celebrate. First I got my pipe exchanged for a better model because of the stain bleeding. Then I got a new full time job.
So I had to go out and celebrate my luck by buying a tin of sg skiff and a bottle of my favorite Shiraz.
So now I've been puffing away for the past hour or so and enjoying the wine on a nice cool summers night.
Basil, Thank you for sharing. Congratulations!!!!!!! Have a great night.
eTom I see the force is with you!!
Yoda is trying to make us send all our tobacco to eTom!:p
Good evening,
It's nice to be back home and meet the family after too many long days and nights at work. Took the three stupidos for a long walk and then i took a damn hot sauna. Now it's time for the evening pipe before thinking any further. Little by little evenings will be darker here again and before too long we'll see the winter coming back. But not quite yet.
Have a nice evening!
