You kinda lost me on that. I was meaning what was it about the Frog Morton that you didn't care for ??

Right now I am smoking "Shortcut to Mushrooms" in the mini bent sandblast basket briar.
That's where the confusion was. I made no comment about earthy so I wasn't sure what you were getting at. Yes Frog Morton has latakia in it but it is not the overall of the blend and when you are saying you had a bowl of latakia I didn't know if you were saying a pure or a blend. The Balken I sent to jon is a full blown latakia that is strong whereas the frog is flavored with latakia which is a lot milder at least the frog Morton across the pond, but there are other frog Morton blends in the line with different nuances...anyhow..so I get it now. You are saying the latakia was not to your taste that's fair enough then. We just had a bit of a communication glitch was all. All good....:)
Just learned that Three Nuns tobacco is now avaiable in the US. I have not used tobacco for some time due to health reasons but when i smoked a pipe this was my favorite tobacco. It is now made in Denmark while the origonal was made in Scotland. I do not know if it is the same or not. But the origional was a great smoke. It was a special favorite of seagoing folks.
For me, Latakia is a more tar or asphalt kind of smell/taste. Like burnt tires.:) I'm not a huge fan but inexplicably will sometimes get a taste for it, typically in rainy or cooler weather.but my taste for it never seems to last for very long and I seldom smoke anything with more than a condimental levels of Latakia in it.
