I don't think it's too much contrast at all. Are you looking at a genuine croc or lizard skin or are you going with an embossed cowhide? Personally, I have a rose gold watch with a dark crock band, and I think it is a wonderful contrast...

First, I love the watch. Here are my thoughts. Leather is classic and classy when wearing suits. Leather looks great with a french cuff and cuff links since the metals won't clash. Also I find the leather is easier on the shirts as the cuffs don't rub metal and fray.

The metal band is more "sporty" and looks good with sports clothes. To me, a watch is just like any other piece of jewelry. I have two, one with a metal band I wear every day and one with a leather band I wear when I get all gussied up.

Once again, the Accutron is very nice.

Also, consider the stitching. Contrasting colors are for a more sporty appearance.

Thanks, thebigspendur! I've been thinking about this and I'm leaning towards glossy cognac/lighter brown leather in gator with deployment clasp and a glossy black gator with deployment clasp. no accent stitching; this isn't a sporty watch.

I always prefer leather bands on watches, but that's me. If I had to choose I would go for the dark brown leather. Matches better than the black.

I got to go with the cognac/lighter brown also, looks great, but you can always switch the band and bracelet whenever you like.

To me, a watch is something which tells me what the time is. Preferably self-winding. Aside from cufflinks, jewellery is best seen on ladies.

Default What kind do you wear?

I guess I'm a watch fanatic. In addition to the old Accutron I have this Seiko pilot watch and a Luminox. I wear the Luminox most of the time. Very sturdy watch!
