Both are nice bands but the leather is a classic look

Changing strops and bands is the easiest way to change the look of the watch. I think there are some watches that just look better with a band. Though the leather looks very good I think in your case that is one of those watches where the band looks better. But of course that's just my opinion and you have to wear it.

My preference would be for the bracelet as well. The leather strap itself looks really nice, but it leaves a big gap above and below the case. Clearly this is one of those strap designs that are specific for the watch.

Don't mess with it. It like fiddling with a Porsche. You just don't do it. After all, you never bought the watch with the intention of changing the band...

I really like the leather there.

I had a couple of metal banded watches a few years ago, but my daily watch now is a leather strap and I much prefer it. Looks better and feels better to wear!

These are MS-paint mock ups I just threw together.

A part of me agrees with the contrast, but you don't think it's pulling it too much the other way?

That is one thing I'll have to find out: how comfortable is the bracelet.

I don't think it's too much contrast at all. Are you looking at a genuine croc or lizard skin or are you going with an embossed cowhide? Personally, I have a rose gold watch with a dark crock band, and I think it is a wonderful contrast...
