Traditional music turned into modern style has been very popular over here for several years now. I think it is a great thing although i'm not so much after that modern style. That is what i have to listen anyways, want it or not. My son and his friends seem to like it loud. At work youngsters seem to listen such music too. Well, not the worst kind of music i know. Here's few examples:

Watching, listening to Leonard Cohen's "Live in London" dvd. I have always thought Cohen was a man for all seasons and truly gifted in many aspects of his interests. Doing a Concert in his 70's.
Thinking of the loss of raysofcolorado brings to mind those I have lost from my life. And that usually brings this beautiful song to mind. If you're hurting, may this help bring you some peace.

I'm sitting at the computer with Pandora on in the background listening to one of my favorite genres of music and suddenly wondering if anyone else here likes dark, moody music such as Midnight Syndicate, Nox Arcana and the like.
I'm by myself tonight, it's getting dark outside. Maybe not such a good choice in music. Kinda freaking me out now..... :medvl:
Ut-oh, should have posted this to the "What Are You Listening To" thread.... I feel a merge coming on
I admit I occasionally have a mood for the dark side. Like the 1st game I watched after I retired.
Had to do a search to hear what you were talking about being a musical dunce. Now you are starting to freak me out, pretty spooky stuff.

Nick Cave is my "dark spooky" music
I once did it with the ole lady during a hurricane black out; listening to Kenny G on the cassette player. :nj
Does that count ?
Check out an album called miller path by a band called family band. I think you'll like them.
How 'bout some classics from Within Temptation and Nightwish

There are certain songs that thanks to Saturday Night Live, I have a tough time ever taking seriously again. One such song is Blue Oyster Cult- Don't Fear the Reaper (I got a fever and the only prescription is more cow bell!) Anyway, on the way to work this morning I heard Loverboy- Working for the Weekend and immediately thought of this and busted out laughing:

Chris Farley was a really funny guy who left us way too quickly. RIP Chris
More Cowbell!!!
It took some doing but I finally found it!

Currently on the radio is "The Goon Show - The great string robberies". Good stuff. :D
Normally not a huge Rascal Flatts song but there's some really good writing on this one. Being a Dad it kinda touches my heart too

Devo and Blondie at the Greek Theater last night. Real 70's, 80's blast from the past. Devo put on a great show - "Peek-a-Boo, I know what you do..."
Blondie was OK. Debbie Harry just didn't seem all that into it. But then at 67...
Over-all a pretty decent show.
Currently at work listening to "Let's Go" by Calvin Harris, on live radio Top 40.
I'd rather be listening to Arcade Fire or other alternative rock, but the WFNX station in Boston was bought out by ClearChannel. The old station turned into RadioBDC and now streams their alternative rock online, but my company's firewall blocks that site transmission. There are no more alternative rock live radio stations in the Boston area. Another great, small radio station is lost to the corporation. It's a totally different station now.
Going with the new Dave Matthews Band CD 'Away from the World" comes out in a couple weeks but i was able to get it a little sooner. Listen to it about 4 times a day. Amazing album!!
I hopped in the car to go to lunch today, turned on the local pop station and I heard one of David Lindley's solos off of a Jackson Brown song. When I got back from lunch I listened to David Lindley for the rest of the day. He is one of my favorite slide guitar players.
