Slade only had a brief appearance here in the states, however they had over 40 hits in the UK and Europe. About Noddy's voice. When Bon Scott of AC/DC died Noddy was asked to become the lead singer. He declined due to his loyalty to Slade.

And there you have the rest of the story.

I just watched an interview with Noddy on YouTube. He said that he left the band after being with them for twenty years. They were around for longer than people thought.
    Just for the record...me : 6/28/55. Roy's got me by a bit.

I'll check out the interview, I know that he had purchased his top hat from a street vender whose name was Freddie and Freddie told Noddy that some day 'He' was going to be a rock star and Noddy told him to F---Off as it wouldn't happen. The vender was later known as Freddie Mercury.

Oh by the way your about the same age as my younger brother. 'Kid' :

    Thumbs up Fleetwood Mac 1969

Blues Jam at Chess/Fleetwood Mac In Chicago/Blues Jam In Chicago Vols. 1 & 2 was the result of a recording session in early 1969, at Chess Records in Chicago (home to Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, et al.) with Fleetwood Mac, then a young British blues band, and a number of famous Chicago Blues artists from whom they drew inspiration.
