How about Joe Walsh's thoughts on today's music and then some of the Real Deal??
Somewhere out there is a series of videos with Joe showing how to play slide guitar and he tells who it was that taught him/none other than Duane Allman! :tu

I just got a hankering for some Stevie Ray Vaughn so I went looking and here he is about a year before his untimely death-clean-sober and having fun playing!
The short interview at the end really shows how humble he was.

Sponge Bob does Black Sabbath, "War Pigs"...that totally made my day....AWESOME!!!
:rofl2:
I didn't realize Ozzy was such a square.:gaah:
I loved it! I wish I knew how people can do things like that! While it's not as trick as the Sponge Bob Black Sabbath I found this hilarious!
My apologies in advance for the one foul word at the end. Please do not watch if you could be offended.

I gave sponge bob a like just fir sabbath as i know nothing of sponge bob. Dont watch tv. Surely not cartoon. But Sabbath rocks!

Or did you forget who he is and who he played for? Just wondering
I've been listening to Shakey Graves "Late July". Starts out with a little story how he got his name.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUkSTnUK_T0
I admit to have never heard of him but with a little research I find that as a small group played on Austin City Limits, I'd like to see that show.
Thanks for posting. :tu
Sorry Roy. Missed that one. Its been kins hecktic lately. I do like Zak Wilde. And when i seen him for the first time on a you tude vid with Ozzy it,was strange. Ozzy always had little of skinny lead guitar players. And Zak's voice , when hes on his own just dont seem like it should be comming from such a big guy.
Zak baby sat Ozzys kids when they were younger. Guess he got his foot in the door.
Its a funny story

I'm a Jazz Aficionado. Big time. Have been for a very long time. I have a large collection of Vinyl, CD and FLAC (lossless digital) Files galore. I'm a member of many Jazz Forums and Blogs. It's my passion.
Currently;
Miles Davis - At Newport 1955 - 1975

Harry "Sweets" Edison - Sweets

I loved the way Sweets played. A nice mix of Miles Davis, Lee Morgan, and Clark Terry.
Well since you haven't posted a link to any music of the style that you like, here's a link to an album that I enjoy. Two totally different styles blending together/I hope all will enjoy :tu:

Sorry gents, I didn't realize this forum expected "Links" to all the music. That's going to be tough for me because most of my Jazz albums are rare, and you aren't going to find links to them on Youtube. But a few you can.
Here is Harry "Sweets" Edison - Sweets;

Aloha cudarunner!
No worries. All of the Jazz forums I'm on we just post pictures of the albums we are playing, not links to Youtube, but if I can find the album on Youtube, I'm happy to post it.
I love many genres of music from Jazz to Blues to Bluegrass to Rock to Classical, but Jazz is my serious passion. I'm glad to share my albums. I'll just add this forum thread to my others when I post my playlists.
Mahalo!

A classic.
Art Blakey - Moanin' (RVG Edition) - RVG is Rudy Van Gelder, the legendary Jazz recording engineer

What I like about this particular album is the title cut "Moanin" is the first cut and you get to hear the banter before the recording starts between RVG and the band members. Again, it's a classic.
Its my Friday so look out...

My friend, if you were to visit here you would find many different kinds of music, there are some that I can listen to for hours but then there are those that I can only take for so long (I did listen to the entire first album link that you posted but I don't remember the name of the artist but I did enjoy it.
Thanks again for posting links :tu
Your 'Haole' Brother In Blades
Mahalo my brother!
i used to live in Redmond, WA for a stint. Loved the area. Miss it somtimes. Surprisingly, I never made the trek to Walla Walla.
Hey, you know the term Haole! That's fantastic.
Do you know the hand gesture called "Shaka"? It means "hang loose" or "chill". It's also used to convey "right on" i.e., you see a really nice 1957 Chevy totally restored and you give the guy driving it the Shaka as a "Right On!" sign.

OK, for some SERIOUS Jazz you definitely won't hear just anyplace. Donaldson is a Jazz Sax man supreme. I'm shocked it was actually on Youtube.
Lou Donaldson - Back Street
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tT09P9tO2M0&t=565s
The great Wayne Shorter - Night Dreamer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE1_b7o0q18
Wayne is still with us, although he's in his 80s now. He's still touring and performing. More power to him! Such a great Jazz talent.
Since it's raining today and I'll be inside I dug out Willie Nelson's Stardust Album. It has been certified QUINTUPLE. It was on Billboards Country Album Chart for 10 years.
I saw Willie play back about '80 in Spokane WA, the old coliseum held 20K and it was sold out. He played for around 3 hours.
I hope all will enjoy:
