Hawg Grouper anyone?
Here's an afternoons catch in the Gulf of Mexico (pre spill) off Ft Myers. Cleaned and filleted, quenched in egg/beer bath. Coated with a mixture of corn meal, kosher salt, cayenne, garlic powder, and lemon pepper. Deep fried at 400 degrees in canola-vegetable oils until golden brown or they float. Doesn't get much better unless it's a shore lunch in northern Ontario.

Thanked: 1371Do I fish?
Heck yeah!
In Fisherman, Babe Winkleman, Gary Roach, the Linders and other fishing related people all have links to my home town.
You can't grow up here and not fish!

Thanked: 1371Shortly after taking my SOTD picture for today I did some shore fishing with my kids.
I have two boats, but more often than not we fish from shore. The kids get a little rowdy on the boat if the fish aren't biting...
My son caught a nice bass on his little Spiderman rod and 4# test (with some assistance from dad of course) It was fun to play that fish on such a little fishing rod.
Also pictured is my daughter with a nice sunfish she caught a couple of weeks ago.

I've never fished browns or brookies. I'd sure like to, though.
