Thread: Chess anyone?

I used to play when I was younger.
I played ok, meaning I did not walk into any 'obvious' traps and I could reason a couple of moves ahead while forming some sort of battle plan.
But I never really got into the game enough that I would spend time in a chess club. I usually played with a handful people I knew while just hanging out.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 983My wife and myself were learning the game from a book and playing each other. I found it to be most enjoyable, however I made the age old mistake of winning to often. SWMBO gave up in disgust. I also had a computer chess game , but that doesn't work with this computer. I need to get a hold of one of those little handheld electronic games I think.

Thanked: 39I don't usually play chess in the forum. I made an account at chess.com (using the same username I do here). I like playing there. I also like doing correspondence chess where I have an actual board set up in my house, and my opponent and I play via email or something. PM me if you'd like to get in a game. I'm sure you'll win. I'm pretty awful, lol.

I am a chess player but mostly at work these days. I used to play with my wife and my son, but wife lost her interest in chess. My son does have changes to be really good in chess, but currently he is at the age where girls, motorcycles and ice hockey are much more interesting than playing chess with the old man.

I`ve got a mate that`s up for finding a way to play chess online. I haven`t played for a while and I love the idea of getting back into it! The only thing is, my brain works in such a way that I NEED three dimensions to be able to play at my best. I had looked online before and a lot of what I found was two dimensional. Can anyone point me to a three dimensional game online anywhere? I`d be very grateful if anyone could help

Since the World Chess Championship is going on it is time to wake up this thread.
I hope that there are more people than me that enjoy this.
