i used play on yahoo chess may be 3 years. if i am not mistaken i have plaid against couple grand masters.
Ones was Bobby used different name.(God rest his soul)
Another one was from Germany or india i am not sure.
Of course we didn't find out after couple days game was over.
At that time people didn't have chess programs.
In Real life i have plaid against Garry in 1982 and lost.
this name come from yahoo chess name .if you check it out you will see at the end says gl.
i haven't log in to yahoo it may still exist in there.

Used to be USCF and Michigan Chess Federation. Only play online now. For a while I took lessons from a Spanish IM. Stormtrooper on FICS, but havent been online there in years.
Now I only play at gameknot.com. User name jeffegg2.
