Pilot sells a disposable fountain pen, the varsity. It cost a few bucks. It lasts a long time and then you throw it away. They also make the vanishing point which is a very nice piece around $120 I think.

Did you find one? If not, I may be able to scrounge up a starter pen for you, if you like. Shoot a PM my way if that interests you at all. For your price range, new, I would look into the Lamy's. Very smooth and durable. I would suspect you to be quite pleased.

Thanked: 18Hi Speckey,
What kind of fountain pen are you after? Fountain pens have about a million and one variables, so you need to be REALLY specific in knowing what you want before you go out and get one. Fountain pens can be good like that, because you can sort of like 'custom-decide' your pen, but at the same time, all the choices can be quite overwhelming!
