Thanked: 0The last time I was in Tampa, my girlfriend asked me to make some maki sushi with fish. As a longtime Iowa resident, I'd given up on finding quality fish and had been making veggie rolls. I was skeptical until we got the sushi grade fish. It was so good that I was popping bits of salmon and tuna into my mouth in between putting it into the rolls. It was good enough that I made some nigiri and sashimi. Now that I'm back in Iowa, I keep having the urge to get some of this fish mailed to me, as even the local "organic store sushi-grade" stuff is nowhere near up to par and a whole lot more expensive.

When my wife worked for Delta airlines, we would get to fly for free. After moving to Utah, we would occasionally get the hankering for an In-n-out hamburger, so we'd just hop a plane to LAX and get one. She doesn't work for Delta anymore, but luckily they've started opening a few of their restaurants in our area. Double double animal style, oh yeah!

Ahhh. Jersey Tomatos . Everytime I go visit my mother, I make sure I bring a bushel back home with me. Also, Cento Sweet Pepper strips. I grew up with these and pork chops. Last time I was in NJ I bought 15 jars of them.
If I had the money, I would fly to Seattle to eat the oyster sampler at The Brooklyn Seafood Steak and Oyster House. Can't be beat!
If I had even more money, I would fly back to Germany just to get a Brat mit brotchen, a pork steak sandwich and a doner kebab.

I don't pay to have any exotic foods shipped (too cheap, better to just go to where it's local if you can). However, I know that some people love our Blenheim's Hot Ginger Ale here in South Carolina, and will haul it home by the case. It's too hot for me, but interesting to try. I also know quite a few people who have "connections" to authentic "shine" distilled in my home state of North Carolina.
There are many roads to sharp.

Sometimes in the Fall I have my sister in Pennsylvania send fresh Hickory Nuts to me here in So Cal. Sometimes Butternuts and Black Walnuts too. Those nuts are the snacks they serve to you on your first day in heaven if you been a very very good person.

Double double animal style... yes sir.
But for those that do not have an InOut near them the
animal style is grilled onions and melted cheese.
Not impossible to make at home, easy in fact, it helps to
save some burger grease for the onions, but is not
a requirement.
Little sliders made animal style are grand for friends.

I'm lucky enough to live in a place where all the good stuff can be found fairly local.
