There is a group of people who don't wear Levi's because of their rivets.
The rivets used on Levi's front pocket stress points have bumps in the middle of them that protrude just enough to scratch the back of a guitar.
Wrangler's have nice smooth guitar-friendly rivets.
...and I live in Fort Worth where we wear Wranglers because that's what we wear...

after i buy them, i just wash the jeans and wear them. i don't like levi's anymore, they're not what they used to be. i wear euro stuff, usually diesel, they seem to be decent.

I like the levis jeans but they don't seem to fit me right. I have big legs and a small waist.
The jeans that seem to fit me right are the lucky brand jeans. Slimfit bookcut is my prefered type.
To wear them in I just wear and live in them. Wash in hot and it shrinks them down until I wear them again to stretch them out.
I haven't found a better fitting pair of jeans but they are a bit pricey. Then again I wear the same 3 pairs for the past 5 years and haven't worn them out so I like the price to use ratio.Shaving_story on Instagram

My 501 got replaced by "levis originals skinny fit" from target. 28$ and they don't need broken in. Perfect for LA. I keep my old pairs of 501s for workin on my house/cars/razors.
Also, high top chucks will never die. I wear mine daily.

I dont know what the routine for 501s are today, I used to wash and then dry 6 times before they were fit to wear, as badly as they are made today I have no idea. I would be afraid to wash a pair of Levis, they would fall apart.I dont buy Levis anymore, the material has become too thin to be durable. You used to get what was call 22 0z denim but now they have cut that in half and the material isnt worth a crap! Unfortunately Carhartt and others have followed in their footsteps, thin material, no quality, no endurance. Nothing that befits a working man.

Thanked: 6I second the Luckys. They fit me better than any other jeans I have had and they last a long time. I still have a pair that I wear at least once a week and I bought them in 05! They are expensive, so I will usually go to their outlet stores. Sure it's last season's style, but I have found that mostly means they changed the stitching design on the back pockets. I can go with last years design to save 60 bucks, no problem at all.

I'm only 25 so the Levi's you all grew up are probably a far cry from what I know.
...my "teenage" job, that I came back to after college and just now left was working on the family farm. (Row Crop) I've worn them ALL out. haha. Even Carrharts.
I refuse to pay more than $50 for any pair of pants. ...and I consider it all a wash (no pun intended). How long they will last is almost predictable by how much they cost.
Currently I like GAP and Levi's (don't remember which number) for "good" wear. The cheap Levi Strauss or Carrharts for work and lounging around. Tried "Key" brand for work pants, and the quality is there but they fit like a soggy diaper.
BTW...this is a good time to rant about how I HATE looking for 36x36 or 38x36.

I've got a pair of levi's I wear to dick around in. Other than that, it's Planet Earth, all the way. They're made like jeans used to be made. I wear out pants in a year, maybe two. The Planet Earth jeans are pretty much indesctruble, I've found. Barring that, I go for Carharts for the longevity.

Thanked: 1371Wow. I never even pay attention to what kind of jeans I buy. When I need some I just grab some that are my size, and then I wear them. I don't worry about break-in or whatever.
I'll bet I have at least six different brands of jeans. As long as they're clean when I put them on, I don't really prefer any over any of the others.
