Default What's the weirdest thing you have eaten?

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'm fairly well traveled, and I've had a fair opportunity to eat a variety of... cuisine in different parts of the world. Some odd, some not so much.

There's a thread hanging around about dawg eating, and that got me thinking about the various critters that I've the pleasure (?) to taste at one point or another, and that lead me towards wondering what the rest of you have consumed at one point or another.

So, what's the weirdest shyte you've eaten?

Nothing too weird here.. Just the basic American fair of Gator, Snake, and other southern specialties thanks to my Uncle who lived in LA.. I have also had hand made head cheese from a Polish friend made with fresh pig brains.

I recently saw Menudo in a can so may try that though I would prefer it freshly made. I go by the philosophy of I will try anything once and sometimes twice just to make sure if it was offensive the first time it wasn't how it was prepared.

I had horse when I was visiting France if that counts as weird? I'd say alligator but that seems fairly common over here, though does ostrich count?

I've been fortunate enough to be able to try a lot of different strange foods around the world.
Although I bet the things most Americans would react to is found right here at home

    Let's see:
Fried ants, In South east Asia
    Horse
    Monkey, on Madagaskar.
    Whale
Rotten shark (Icelandic, nasty stuff. smells horrible, tastes foul.)
Rakfisk (Norwegian rotten fish) smells funky, tastes goooood.
Lutefisk, dried fish, prepared in lye, then watered out. Like Fish Gelly
Smalahove, One halved sheeps head, served directly on the plate, eyes, teeth and all.
The eye takes a bit of courage to pop out and put in your mouth. but it is real tasty

It has a pretty strong taste, and there is very little chewing resistance in it. We usually mellow it out with raw onion, sour cream, potato bread and other stuff. eaten alone, I would call it a very Acquired taste

I'm sorry I can't give a better description of it, my English is not quite up to that
