Emotional reasons or rational reasons?
I've thought about this argument, and some people say you have to 'buy American'. But the flip side is that unless the American is equivalent to the foreign car, you're rewarding the American company to produce sub-par cars.

Then again, I've seen places in the US where non US cars or bikes stand a good chance of being vandalized. So buying an American car could be a rational choice, even though it might not be when comparing just specs and price.
