I might add one to your list, GOLF! (just my humble opinion)
The few times I ever picked up a golf club and went to a driving range it screwed up my softball swing. If I'm ever out on a beautiful spread of land, it'll be with my bow, hunting the mighty Whitetail.

I appreciate that offer. Likewise if you ever get to Phoenix in the summer, we'll go to a Diamondbacks game and I'll explain all the tiny nuances.

I can't argue with you on that one at all. I've been a shooter and a hunter for many years but just took up archery a bit over a year ago. I wish I had done it years earlier.

Just because the word "rugby" was said here I've gotta chime in.

    1. Baseball is most definitely one of the finer things in life. Maybe not everyone's life, but it's one of the best things about being an Ameircan!

    2. Rugby is, well, rugby. It was created in 19th century England, so thereby it's automatically classy, sophisticated, and needs a good shower. Only bad thing is that the older you (I) get, the harder it is to play (or rather, the harder it is to keep yourself in proper shape to play well).

My baseball season is over and now I have to wait until next summer which is about the only good thing about summer in this city. My Diamondbacks went down swinging and playing hard. A truly special team. Almost as special as the 2001 team that won the World Series. No big names on this team, no superstars,no Randy Johnsons or Curt Schillings. Just a team that played hard and never gave up. They lost to a better team but they stretched them and took that team to its limits. Yogi Berra said, "It aint over til its over" and this team proved it.
To all the teams that are left in the playoff, Good luck to you all. I'll cheer but not as loud and I won't be quite as engaged but somewhere out there there will be fans of those teams screaming and yelling and urging their teams to stretch that summer out to one more day. I do envy those fans.
