    Default British television

I consider myself a bit of an Anglophile and love BBC program(me)s. Monty Python, Mr. Bean, and Dr. Who are popular in the US, as well as the legendary Sir David Attenborough nature series, but are there some great classic British serieseseses out there that I've missed? I also love Are You Being Served, Keeping Up Appearances, and All Creatures Great and Small.

This is also a general BBC appreciation thread.

I would suggest that "Only Fools and Horses" and "Blackadder" may be of interest, both BBC.

I've seen Little Britain. The first few episodes were hilarious, but it got a little repetitive after a while. I've heard of black adder and red dwarf, but never watched them. Hopefully they're on netflix!

The Two Ronnies, The Dave Allen Show, The Kenny Everett Show (who could forget Hot Gossip?), Morse, Midsomer murders, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, It aint half hot mum, Dad's Army, The Goodies, To the Manor Born, Yes Minister, Yes Prime Minister, The Good Life, The Bill (early series, before it just turned into a soap opera), .... the list never ends! All comedy gold (well, the ones that are comedies, at least).

I also have never heard another radio station that is the equal of BBC radio 4. We lived in the UK for 4 years, and never bought a TV license (and never watched any TV at home) because we had the radio. Best - Radio - Ever!

    God Bless Her Majesty's BBC!!

    James.

Black adder is amusing as all get out. I also enjoy keeping up appearances. I like to now my lawn in a sweater vest in honor of Onslow. I just need to know what brand is on his hat so I can complete my weekend ensemble.
