The ones I was talking about are the Pacific 600. There in a blue colbolt, which is one of my favorite colors, but it pisses me off when you get an email that says "hey look at our new watch, but you can't have one ,because their sold out ", that's just bullshit, send me an email that says look what's coming and get ready to want it. JMHO.
That's in the same vane as Swatch/Omega with the moonwatch knockoff. You can only get one at select Swatch Stores and only in person.

    My latest little pick-up....

I'd say this is, "The Forgotten Reference", the Rolex GMT Master 16700, one of the last old school GMT references and the only GMT with the "Quickset" date feature.

This is a super slim reference, sleek, elegant, from a time Pan Am pilots were Kings of the Sky.....

This is a Rolex GMT Master 16700, 100 meters water resistance, all original, bracelet is 62510H (06) Jubilee Bracelet with 50 and 502B stamps on links.

If I had that watch I'd sell it and laugh all the way to the bank.

Size: 32.3 KBhere is a brand that few know about, I was told that they are more well known in Europe, but here are some crappy pictures of a Jaques lemans, a brand I first saw on TV, before it became the all Invicta channel. I wasn't paying much attention but I heard the description and was shocked by what it had and more by it's price, the quality is impeccable, and most of them came with the highest level of 7750 automatic movements. I now have three of them and they really do keep time as well as my Rolex, on of them, better, this one. As far as I can tell, they dissapeared from TV when the Swatch group took away access to the ETA and Valjoux movements, but if you go on Ebay you can still buy NOS on the cheaper side than they were. Really worth looking into, there still not cheap but when you see what you can still get for a grand or less you'll be very pleasantly surprised. I don't have a picture of it yet, but also look up SWI, swiss watch international, they were making some serious (I hate this expression but it fits) baller watches, the same level of quality, the same high end 7750,and a higher level of decoration that makes you able to put it next to a date just and have people wondering which is the most expensive. They even had two articles in International watch magazine as a brand to watch (no pun in)tended .The best part for you guys is that the same watch I paid close to five grand for, you can get new (there are a couple) for $999.99, which really pissed me off, but not as much if you, my boys from here grab the deal. Also your color choice are now limited of course, but definitely worth a look.[ I just previewed my pictures, and they stink, just go to Ebay and you'll see what I mean. ATTACH=CONFIG]348156[/ATTACH]

    I've heard of them before.

At any rate you can find JL everywhere from Amazon to department stores and all over the place. They have become more a fashion brand. I don't know where they are made but I'd bet mostly China except for the few expensive models which are probably hybrid Austria and Swiss.

Nope, all of the older ones were Swiss made, and it showed. I think someone bought the name and as you said, are turning out quartz fashion watches. That's how you can tell on Ebay, if there swiss made they say it, and most used the 7750. All you have to do is look, and you'll see the difference.

And then you would be unhappy in a few months when you saw how much it had increased in value since you sold it.
Some people know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

    You say VALUE? Har har.

Any watch at the 2 grand mark has value and less than 1 grand that much more.

There is no magic in a watch, any watch. The only reason some watches command the prices they do has nothing to do with any intrinsic value. It's only because people are will to pay the asking price. Those prices could collapse at any time. Even watches with precious metals and gems cost many times the value.

I'm not knocking folks who commission custom one off watches costing as much as a house these days. To those folks that's chump change. But the middle class guy who plunks down 10 grand for a Rolex he has to finance....well.....
