I have been wearing a Doxa 800Ti Pro. Love the automatic (mechanical) watches!

I love mechanical watches, but for practicality reasons I wear a Rado ceramic chronometer. It is scratchproof, accurate enough for my needs, and is of slim profile (doesnt look like a teenagers watch, nor like Im about to don a wetusit for diving). I have brushed it agains concrete and brick a number of times and is still flawless. I have had a tag and a few japanese watches in the past, but after a year or two they look worn, scratched etc. My rado is 6 years old and looks brand new. I know other watches are more exclusive, expensive, desirable etc, but my Rado suits me perfectly. Also, unlike Omega, Tag, Rolex etc, you dont see many fakes, and people dont assume you have just come back from Thailand.

Every case material has it's advantages and disadvantages. Ceramic is highly scratch resistant (nothing is scratch proof) but if you drop it...well..you're in big trouble. I have a watch with a Tungsten Carbide case and it's very hard too but if I dropped it on a hard floor it would be toast. I have another made from a Cobalt and Chromium alloy and it seems to be both scratch resistant and strong. Time will tell.

CWC Mechanical Chronograph. I love it and I love the old school feeling of winding it every evening.

I currently own two watches that actually see use. My "nice" watch is a Citizen Eco Drive that my lovely wife surprised me with on our 5th wedding anniversary. I wear it at work and when out and about town.

My "knock-around" is an old Timex Ironman that has survived 3 deployments and countless abuses, but true to their motto "keeps on tickin".

Just bought a Invicta Grand Diver 3045. Really wanted the 9937 but can't seem to get them in UK. Anyone had any experience? Really fancied a new automatic and it's got a seiko movement so can't be too bad.

I like the kind of "watch" that is inside my cellphone. I think that having a second watch is unpractical and doesn't serve any purpose. It is in the way and uncomfortable. It also increases the risk of injuries, just like other jewelry. Why do you like them? Am I wrong if I say that it is about having nice things, and showing that you have nice things? And not so much about that fact that it shows time? I Hope I don't stir something up, I am just interested in your opinions
