My daily is a Seiko Kinetic one of the best watches I’ve had. Bought a Rolex in the army while overseas don’t wear it much but it’s a well built watch plus the price was Really low. My TAG is my go to for dress

My brother bought a Rolex non date sub in the Px in Nam in 1968. I think he paid about $200 for it. A couple years ago a watch store offered him $4000 cash for it and it ain't in the best of shape.

Anyone (Nelson) know anything about this movement?
    Movement
25 Jewel ETA Caliber 2824-2 Swiss automatic, 3-hand Swiss automatic with date, 40-hour power reserve, +/- 5 seconds accuracy

LIV is using it in a diver I’m eyeing.
Finally making things closer to 41mm. So I was thinking about..
    Thanks

It's a very common workhorse Swiss Mvmt. About as solid as they come. ETA was acquired by The Swatch Group a few years ago and they pretty much supply Swatch Group Watches Like Omega. These days Stelita makes a clone of the ETA's with one additional jewel. It's of equal quality.

Either way they run within 10 seconds a day or better and many are chronometer certified.

$4,000 cash for it? If he still has the box and papers, sheesh, even if he doesn't, sounds like it would be worth more like $30-$40,000 - those military Rolex watches, with heavily faded dials that have seen service usually sell for BIGLY money....
