You didn't say if you want new or vintage, quartz or mechanical. You can get a basic new quartz for not much. Wally World sells them.

Thanked: 198i have tried many of the ones from wally world and have found them to be very lacking, IMO i would go more with a vintage watch, it will last better than most. the quartz ones from wally world never seem to hold up, or time for that matter.

Well, if you want vintage and you go with a common Elgin a tad on the rough side in maybe 12 size you should be able to get one in your price range. However, it will probably require an overhaul which will set you back $120 or so. You need to be careful with vintage because you need to educate yourself first. You could wind up with something that looks good and seems to run good for 30 days or so and then find out it needs costly repairs.

Thanked: 198this is true, i seem to remember a brand from when i was younger, in my early teens, but for some reason the name escapes me, it didnt have much in the way of jewels, but it was a fairly dependable pocket watch for the money, and, the mid 70's

The last pocket watches I remember still being at least partially made here were the Westclock Big Bens and bullseyes which were from the 70s. I used to have one. I think they cost around $30 or so back then.
