Ah Grunge...I'm reminded of the morning one of my troops came in and told me he had seen Pearl Jam on MTV doing their "new" song, "Keep on Rockin in the Free World" with "some old guy." I laughed until my stomach hurt and then explained to this clueless a$$clown that the "old guy" in question was in fact Neil Young, who in fact wrote this "new song" years before Eddie Veter was even introduced to the teet.

I was fifteen when that song broke out. I didn't like those Seattle bands then, and I still don't. This is what I was playing that year. 20 years?!!

It was hard for DC kids to dig that mtv grunge stuff when this was free or, at the most 5 bucks to catch.

The same kid asked me one day if I knew that Paul McCartney had been in a band before Wings. Again, I just busted a gut laughing and said, "Really? No s@#t!"

I feel just down right ancient now...But I'm not that old surely...Actually this was hammered home to me not too long ago when I mentioned a place I used to live, and said how rough it was (Violence/Racism/Riots), Only to be told, much had changed in the past 20 odd years...
