Thanked: 7EDC Man Purse?
Anyone here carry a man purse? A satchel perhaps.. Maybe even a messenger bag.
Im sure some of you must!
I ordered a Maxpedition Jumbo E.D.C bag and am eagerly awaiting its arrival.
So who here carries one of these every day and what are a few items that you keep in it that you cant live without?
Pictures would be cool!
I have 4 core items. Phone, wallet, knife, music
Phone: Blackberry curve 3G
Wallet: Not sure where I got it but its the tri fold style.
Knife: Benchmade McHenry & Williams (First production run)
Music: Ipod touch 8GB

I carry a small one. Usually has my wallet, whatever book I'm reading at the time, some business cards and other random stuff. It also fits small packages like shaving soaps, Ebay razors and even small hones, so it's ideal for smuggling in and out of the den.

When I have too much stuff to carry in my pockets, I usually use a Vietnam era canvas army satchel. I figured it was only type of non-backpack bag I would feel comfortable carrying around in public.

I just use my pockets.
I do have to messenger bags I use from time to time. A water resistant pvc Eddie Bauer one I got for Christmas last year and a tan cordura eastpack? (can't remember the brand) that I picked up in Vienna about the years back. I've stuffed a weeks worth of clothes in it before but it isn't huge unless I want it to be.
I've been oggling a crossbreed leather satchel for some time now. They have a spiffy concealed pocket that will hold a holster.
Edit: I just looked and don't see it on their site anymore. That makes me sad.Last edited by bharner; 12-01-2011 at 11:08 PM.

I carry a messenger bag, or satchel with me every day. I firmly believe that one can still be tough, and carry one's stuff.

Thanked: 13246I carry a Nike Messenger Bag everyday, it was a "Giveaway" from TAGHeuer, it sat in storage forever, then this past year I started using it to carry Mail in (ie:Razor boxes) then I realized that some of the people I work with are a bit less than honest so I started keeping personal stuff in it instead of my desk drawers...
It is also waterproof in and out so I bring lunch etc: in it too..
I keep things like Nail clippers, Thumb drives, Ear buds, Ipod cords, Dental Floss, basically everything I don't want people walking off with or using, in it
The wifey refers to it as the "Male Bag"

I'm lucky in that, in Spanish, there is not really a distinction between "purse" and "bag" (at least in terms of the Venezuelan dialect I speak with my wife), so SWMBO just refers to my man purse as a bag. I don't know if it's good or bad that it's the same word that's used for "purse" or not, but it doesn't feel like it. With "purse", there's no doubt about it. I have taken to calling it my bag in English, too

I use a messenger bag when I go into teach school, backpack when I go to teach test prep classes, and my pockets for everything else. I don't have anything against carrying a bag out, but it's just one more thing for me to keep track of. I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached to my shoulders...

Or, maybe I just use my pockets.
