Something handwritten is always a more personal approach. And receiving something that is handwritten is just plain nice. Receiving something handwritten in biro is all right, but receiving something written with a fountain or dip pen, just adds a whole new level of class to a wonderful feeling. Emails are a bit like post it notes. Read and soon forgotten. Sent off to the wastepaper basket in the ether. Something like a personal note or a letter handwritten on paper is something that can be treasured. The same can't be said for an email, no matter how personal it is.

    Au contraire!

Check out Noodlers: Fountain Pens - Noodler's | GouletPens.com That link isn't to Noodler's but rather to the place where I bought mine. They have better info (IMHO) than the Noodler site itself.

I have two Noodlers pens: a nib creeper flex pen (which is quite small) and an Ahab flex (which is quite large).

Both work great, but so far I have found the smaller nib creeper to have much more flex. But since the nib and feed can be moved about, that may just be down to the way I have mine set up.

Anyway, they certainly haven't magically transformed by scrawl to look anything like your works of script art, but I thought you'd like to know that at least someone is still making flex pens.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

My Newly acquired Wing Sung 842

I received this beauty today for less than €5 (that's Euros) from a vendor in England if I had gone direct to China I could have paid a lot less. Its from Wing Sung who where bought by Hero and the auction sites are chock full of them, its weighty and feels good in the hand its reasonably smooth writer (I like a bit of scratch). I was so pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pen I bought a Wing Sung selection set of Five pens for €12.
Now to think of an excuse to write

Yes I got the letter yesterday mate. Thank-you very much. I was going to pen a reply today, but if there's a second note on the way, I'll hold off until I get that one too.

I just ordered 2 more x450's so that I can have some colour options with the ink I use. I had to place all then orders separately which was annoying. For less than $4 each I reckon they are OK.

I think I may be developing a bit of a Jinhao obsession... I was doing so well not buying more bloody pens until I saw a description on ebay that reads in part:

"Because the seller camera technology is limited, not perfect from all angles showing section baby, feel good kind sedate. JINHAO pen, you deserve! ! !."

I am not one to make fun of people's language when writing in a second or third language, and that's not my point here. After all, that's a hell of a lot better than I could achieve in Chinese at the moment. But I do appreciate enthusiasm and a good chuckle, and for that, kind seller, you have yourself a sale. The fact that it's three bucks delivered to my door didn't hurt either.

    EDIT:
Oh, for cryin' out loud... now I've gone and bought two. This is what sold me on #2. Perhaps my atrocious handwriting can be explained by a failure to properly assess my buttocks before writing. On a slightly more serious note, this one looks like it's trying to copy Lamy. I really like my Lamy, so I'll be interested to see how it compares. But even if it's only half-decent I figure for a few bucks I'll at least be able to take it to the office without worrying about it disappearing.

Remember to assess those buttocks folks!

"The most important of this pen can help people change posture holding pens .
    一. sitting posture
1 head being ; head shall so skewed.
2 the body straight ; upper body to sit upright .
3 chest Shu ; . Chest has a table along the distance punch .
4 buttocks assessment ; both arms naturally flat on the table ,
5 foot security ; both feet flat on the ground naturally , and shoulder -width appropriate."

My current writing desk in my room at work. After barely a month i have made an angled writing board, and bought quite a bit of ink, at work i have toucan ink, the big jars have sienna and violet in, each is 150ml, the small jars are black and a colour i have mixed called grape juice, the specimen jar is a colour i was trying to mix but didnt really work, i have a dip pen, and a jinhao x450. The box at the back is a schaefer caligraphy set.
I have 2 more x450's on order and a lamy safari to come as well.
At least all this stuff is cheap enough, and i get to send (inundate in some cases) people letters
