    Birnando,
Good show for your choice. That Pelikan 1000 is a masterpiece. The reason I went with the M800 is because of my small hands. Still, I have had the M1000 in my heart for quite a while, and I may still go with it, too. Oh, heaven . . .

Obie, I have just received the same pen, but in Blue. It is a beautiful writer and I am really enjoying it. I got a great deal on it from, of all places, ebay from a seller in Vancouver!
I think I might actually prefer my older Pelikan 400NN F nib. These older ones write so beautifully!

All of Pilot's Namiki pens are top notch IMO, The 823 is a great alternative to pricier Pelikans.

    Harry,

That is a handsome pen. I am not familiar with Kaweco Dia. Thanks for posting the photo of yours.

It also has a very smooth writting Nib, something not very common for EFs. Excellent balance in hand and nice finishing. Worth trying.

My Pelikan M1000 has finally arrived.
I was ever so slightly worried that it would perhaps be a bit too big.
Now that I have tried it out a bit I am happy to say that it fits my hands perfectly

And what a joy this pen is to use!
I put some Pelikan Edelstein Sapphire blue ink in it.
With the EF nib this pen writes wonderfully smooth.
Here is a quick shot of it.

A real beauty Birnando. A grail pen for most. I see your taste in large pens mirrors your taste in large razors. Congratulations on the new acquisition.

Birnando, my friend, a celestial fountain pen. For me, the Pelikan will always remain the ultimate fountain pen.
