It's about all we ever listen to, but we prefer the somewhat older country music.

Thanked: 2027Used to love it back in the 60s/70s,but that music made me drink large quantitys of Alcohol and indulge in unatural (consensual of coarse) sex acts,Do not listen to that stuff anymore,is very bad music.

Old stuff I like was Hank Williams Sr., Jimmie Rodgers, the singing brakeman, the Carter Family stuff from the 1930s and '40s, Ernest Tubb, Roy Acuff, Lefty Frizell ..... new stuff; Waylon Jennings, Billy Joe Shaver, David Allan Coe, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash. I'm not familiar enough with the new stuff to name names but I like some of it.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 1185Been a country music fan for most of my life. I too prefer classic country music and haven't really warmed up to a lot of the pop/country little girl garbage that seems to be all the rage these days. IMHO no kiddin' country music comes from folks like George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, etc. My tastes however run the gammot from the old classic stuff to people like George Strait, Alan Jackson, Clint Black, etc. Not all the modern stuff is garbage though either, I also dig Brad Paisley, Montgomery Gentry, Zac Brown Band, and (don't tell anyone) but every once in a while Rascal Flatts sounds good to me.
The older I get, the better I was

Thanked: 5Have you or has anyone else heard of Hank Williams III? Yes, if you didn't know, there is another Hank around. He's probably my favorite out of the three. Check him out:
I also like a lot of the older stuff, and although I'm not happy to admit it some of the newer stuff. I hate the really poppy stuff like Rascal Flatts and Sugarland, but Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, etc. aren't bad.
