How many people CCW here?

Im posting the rest of my guns with an exception to my new england firearms 20ga. I have a Remington ADL 700 series .308 whitch has been pillar bedded, free floated, bolt face has been trued up, trigger has been worked to a 6oz. Weight with 1/16” travel to fire 1/4” total travel, burris dovetail & windage basses with burris Z rings, and a sightron 3-9x40 japanese glass. I also have a CVA buckhorn 50. Caliber muzzle loader with bushnell basses, rings, and 3-9x40 bushnell scope. A new MARLIN 30-30 lever action, side eject with marlin basses, rings, and marlin 3-9x40 scope, and field and stream leather sling. And last but not least, my verry first firearm, MARLIN .22 LR semi-auto, it has a bushnell 3-9x40, and its tube fed not magizine fedAttachment 111078 my .308Attachment 111079 my marlin 30-30 Attachment 111080 my .50 CVA Attachment 111081 my marlin .22 Attachment 111082

To clarify, i'm not against guns, i'm in the military and used to be infantry. I love the C6 (the Canadian version of the M240) and the C9 (same as the saw). As far as pistols go i've only ever shot the Browning HP 1911 and the SIG that our Military Police use.

I don't really get all the talk of "tactical" advantage. You guys make it sound like there is Civil War....

To be fair there is on average one to two shootings a week within 3 blocks from my apartment. 99% of the time the miss and go unreported because the cops won't get out of their cars. Being the only white guy for ways and wearing suits most days I draw attention and appear to be a cop to most of the people living around me.

Anyone have any of the CZ 75 compact varients? I'm debating between one of these and a Walther PPQ/P99.

So I haven't had the compact, but I carried the 85 (basically an ambidextrous 75) daily for 15 years until 2 years ago, when I replaced it with a 75 sp01 (also called cz 75 shadow). It's my daily carry and my ipsc standard division competition gun (same applies to the 85).I also had a friend who carried the 75 compact for a few years. All I can say about the 75s is that they're real workhorses.I carried my 85 in the service and while on reserve duty, and it delivered like the US post: through mud and rain and sleet and sand. Mainly mud and sand. The newer shadow is slightly more sensitive, (no clumps in my mud please), but somehow managed to keep the same grip and feel, only give better accuracy and speed. And truth be told I'm doing a lot less time in the mud these days. I might be getting a bit long in the tooth for that... I haven't fired the walther nearly enough to form a good comparison, but fwiw I'll give the cz´s a big thumbs up.

Thanks for the info. I grew up shooting my dads old EAA Witness (CZ 75 clone) and last time I was home got to shoot around with it again. I've already got a sub compact and am looking for something a little bigger that is still easily concealable. I'm just torn between the cz 75 compact and the cz75 D PCR compact. Basically the alloy with decocker vs steel with safety.

Yea well, call me old fashioned, but as you might have guessed I like my steel guns.it's heavier but I don't like the balance of plastic guns. Or the way the balance changes as you magazine empties. I've yet to find a plastic gun I really like, but that's just me. I also prefer single action to double. I've been practicing for so many years that I feel confident enough with the unholster-rack the slide-aim-trigger work routine in day to day carry, and in higher intensity situations I'd rather go cocked and locked anyway.a good holster will keep your safety where is supposed to be. As long as you always know your weapon state you're fine.

I have a CZ P01, and while I like it a lot. It hasn't stole the Glock 19's spot in my holster.

CZ has the best grip I ever felt, runs reliably, but the sights and trigger need a little help (good luck finding a gunsmith that will even touch a CZ). For carry, there are just a few more sharp corners that don't mix well with my soft parts. It is a great gun though and they were a great deal years ago when a CZ-75 was <$400. At today's prices, I don't know that I would get one again.

It's also nice that with a Glock I can detail strip it down in 5 minutes with a punch and a screwdriver and clean out all the lint. Whereas the CZ requires a hammer, roll pin punches, and lots of patience.
