Well, concerning IWB holsters, I purchased a holster from Ailen Gear Holsters for my XD40 subcompact (I'm not affiliated with them in any way). For those of you who haven't heard of them, think crossbreed with thicker leather and kydex and the "combat cut" as standard. You can adjust depth and cant, plus you can swap the kydex for free (as of this writing, anyway) if you decide to carry a different gun. They also have a lifetime warranty as well. All for about $35-$45 shipped and a shorter lead time than crossbreed.

I ordered mine on 10/28, so it should be shipping out in the next couple of days. I'll keep you guys posted if anyone is interested.

One thing to note... If you go for the black leather instead of brown, there is an extra charge (hence the price range listed above). You can buy through their website or through their ebay store, but if you go the ebay route, they only show the black leather. The price, however, is the same as the brown leather. I don't know if it's cheaper to go through ebay, but I went through the website to make sure I got the black leather instead of the brown.

I picked up a combat cut IWB off the bay from a vendor copying Crossbreed for my G26 & don't care for it as the grip rubs me raw if i am in a seat like an automobile for a while. You can always trim a regular cut down, but not add the leather. Just a thought.

True, shooter, true... that is something to keep in mind. Me personally, though, I don't mind it/am already used to it because I'm carrying in a Tagua holster, which had the same cut. The main reasons I got the new one are for the kydex, the ability to adjust the cant and depth and for better weight distribution.

Though I can certainly see the combat cut being a negative for lots of folks.... Good food for thought, sir!

Depending on the occasion, I carry a Kimber eclipse II or Springfield Armory XD in .45 acp and for "dressier" events a SW airweight .38 special in a pocket holster.

I carry a Glock 19 9mm 98% of the time. I also have carried my Gemini Customs springfield 1911, Les Baer Premier II, and M&P 9. I always carry IWB holsters in Milt Sparks, Comp-tac Infidel Ultra, and Alessi PCH. Actually I'm still awaiting my Daltech Force gun belt, which I just received an e-mail informing me that it has shipped today. I started a thread in the conversation forum about it, I will give you guys a review when it arrives. My Dillon Leather gun belt by Mitch Rossen has been lost during our recent move.

Any of you guys have a weapon that is "too nice" to carry? I have acquired 3 1911's over the years. I bought them when I was shooting local uspsa matches. One of the is a Springfield, decked out by Gemini Customs, a Les Baer Premier II, and an STI Edge. As much as I love 1911's and these are what I reload for mostly, I stick to my cheaper polymer framed guns for edc. I've been told by several shooters that if you ever use one for defense, law enforcement will confiscate it, and you may or may not ever see it again!

    An old saying goes
A 1911 is what I show my friends.
A Glock is what I show my enemies.
