This particular round has stopped many aggressors, several in our city over the past 30 years.
Thanks! You're right of course, although I'm not too concerned about feeling the recoil. I simply don't shoot the J-Frame very well, and find that I really have to concentrate hard to even maintain point shooting accuracy at short distances. The gun tends to feel jumpy in my hands, and I don't like to see shots spreading out all over the target. My concern is that higher pressure ammo might throw me off even further, but I'll definitely give that Remington a try...

Getting a handle on this bloody J-frame has become a personal challenge at this point !

Why not, is it a dirty little secret or something? While I do not walk around advertising the fact to anyone who cares to know (that would sort of defeat the purpose of carrying "concealed", right?), I do talk about it with friends, family, and occasionally even people on the Internet ;-)

I personally do not talk about whether I carry or not - it's nobody's business.

Yes, I do enjoy talking about pistols and rifles, but I certainly don't advertise what is and isn't sitting in my safe or in my house or on my body.

Years ago, I made the mistake of mentioning the pros and cons of carrying to a friend - to this day, every time we meet in a public place, he has to loudly ask if I'm carrying or not. That kind of puts me in an awkward position and definitely makes others uncomfortable. He is an idiot and now I avoid him.

Whether you choose to discuss your carry options is up to you; I'm just saying be careful because you never know who is listening - especially on the Internet.

    Understandable...

Point taken. Luckily, most of my friends also carry, and we're pretty clandestine when moving in public. Besides, everything I do is legal, and my physical security is AA+. When in the US, I live in an extremely gun-enthusiastic location in AZ, and discussing various weaponry is a normal thing around here. Here's a true story for you:

I'm a certified firearms trainer and occasionally give private lessons. One day last year, coming from the outdoor range with a client, we stop at a Starbuck's. Having our coffee, we chew the fat about this and that. At some point he asks me "What's the advantage of a red-dot sight on a rifle vs. a glass scope...?"

At the table next to us, a bespectacled stout old lady, grandma, is busy unraveling her wool. When she hears the question, her head pops right up from her knitting, she looks up at my friend and blurts out: "Because in close-quarters, young man, you're gonna get that red-dot on target much faster than the glass...!!!"

I just about spotted my pants...

What's your suppressor? I got an AWC Abraxas for 9mm, very not happy with it, wish I'd gone with an AAC instead...
Silencerco! LOVE IT!! Waiting on a new liberty also(tax stamp) ugh

I never understood the idea that people should not talk about it. All my friends that carry know I do. I wish Tx laws allowed open carry. So to say you shouldn't talk about it for me is hogwash.
First rule of a gunfight is to bring a gun, The second rule is bring all your friends with guns... I live and operate in a vigilent world, not paranoid... IMHO
when I am back down range and armed all the time, and the enemy knows I am armed all the time, does that hinder my safety? Criminals attack soft targets over hard targets every time.

i had a remington rand 1911a1 once..had it accurized..peened rails, turned down the barrel, new bushing, honed trigger mechanism. first time i shot it i had no target handloads so i bought a box of heavy lead round nose things. got into the weaver stance, pulled the trigger. did a double tap, then another one, and the thing went full automatic. had to have the trigger readjusted. eventually added an aimpoint, and eventually sold it to buy a table saw. lesson learned..never never never sell something like that because you will never never never find another one.

I've had my LTC in MA since the 80's. My usual carry is a S&W .357.

I drove trucks for 30 plus years. Had my own rig for several of that. Picked up a junk car in Texas for a lady that wanted her car returned to AZ. I had to pay the storage fees out of my pocket to get her car and told her that would be in addition to the freight which would be COD in cash. I called her about an hour out of Tuscon and heard some male voices in the background talking trash and saying they were just going to take the car when I got there. Stopped in Tuscon and called an old drinking buddy and told him to meet me at the Triple T and come packing. We met up and went to the agreed upon meeting place.

I pulled into a parking lot and the old bag came over and started talking trash, About that time a cop rolled up. There were three hombres sitting in car at this point. My buddy had a 1911 on his hip. I had a Hi-Powr in a cross draw rig and both were in plain sight. The old bag told the cop to do something as we were carrying guns. He told her he wan't worried about our guns near as much as he was worried about the three punks in her car.

She paid up and I unloaded her POS Mustang II with a blown motor.

I love AZ's open carry law. My wife is from MO and they have open carry as well. I don't bother with it up there, but that old Hi-Powr is rarely out of reach.

For now, I carry my duty weapon, a Sig P226 in .40 with TruGlo sights. However, I managed (God only knows how) to convince SWMBO that there are times that I need something less bulky for off duty carry. So, at the beginning of this month I picked up a Smith & Wesson MP 340. As soon as I shoot our qual course, that will be taking the place of the Sig on occasion.
