The one thing that I like about permit to carry is that it gives you the ability to conceal without worrying about printing or exposure. In WI I have a CCW and it is also legal to open carry. This allows me to carry at 3:30 with my shirt tucked in and a blazer without being too concerned that I might expose my gun at some point. So far, I don't think anyone has even noticed, and definitely not commented.

I've open carried before too, and the number of people that are just oblivious to the fact that you are carrying a gun is truly amazing.

As for my normal day-to-day routine, I carry in-the-waistband in a Crossbreed Supertuck holster - I've never had anyone notice. Except for the telltale Crossbreed clips - I can tuck my shirt in and still not have any fear of anyone noticing.

The law isn't very old there at all. Just a few months. There was a recent story about the government offices being overwhelmed with license requests.

I used to live there and hated that one could not carry. glad to see it's changed. I'll have to check reciprocity

After reading this thread I can actually say that I have never been scared of a bad guy with a gun. You good guys with guns scare the crap out of me.

LOL I don't know if I qualify as a good guy Tom, but nothing to be scared of here. Guns are like condoms... I would rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it.

All the cliches aside, I honestly feel safer in mall or Walmart where I know there are a bunch of CCW carriers than I do driving on the highway.

I feel this way for a couple of reason. First My life has been put in danger many times by other drivers on the road. I have never been threatened or made to feel unsafe by by a CCW holder. Second, I can't speak for all states but here in MO you have to have a lily white clean record to even get a CCW permit. I know all the folks with a CCW truly are the "good guys" who respect and obey the law.

I remember when our CCW law finally passed. The anti gunners were getting in the news media and were going on about how there would be gun fights in the streets and we would have "gun rage" just there was road rage and on and on. Not a bit of that has ever happened. I have a good friend and fellow engraver who lives in Osh Kosh. He told me his local media did the same thing recently when WI's law was being passed. So far they haven't had any of that come true either.

The worst problems I can remember here in MO was one elderly lady accidentally left her gun in a bathroom shelf in a store not to long ago and the store owner ended up turning it over to the police. There was another incident right after our law passed where another lady left her gun in here purse in a shopping cart and left the purse open and a kid found the gun. No one was hurt but both made the news. Both were stupid and careless and should have never happened. That has been the extent of problems in MO. The street arguments and fights that people fear just never happen.

Great thread. However, I feel really bad reading it as I unfortunately live in Socialist/Liberal Canada and the Government restricts basically all tools of self defense (even pepper spray for women), because if you look at the crime rate these laws obviously keep weapons out of the hands of criminals (sarcasm).

Therefore, the only concealed weapons I carry are a tactical flashlight and a tactical pen which i carry with me daily. I got a Fenix TK21 pulsated LED flashlight that can blind someone and a Smith & Wesson tactical pen with a sharp point on one side which can do damage in a self defense situation. I got my girlfriend a key-chain alarm, tactical flashlight, tactical pen, and she carries them with her daily.

Not to be contentious, but if this is your viewpoint, then why are you on this thread? Your comment makes no logical sense and smacks of feminism.
