    Default Slingshots

Anyone have some or use them. Years ago I was into them. I made my own from a tree branch with wood about 1 1/2 inches thick and rubber from an old tire. That thing could hurl a good sized rock probably 50 yards at least. I used to see these professionally made ones with sights and crosshairs in it. Anyone ever use one of these things for hunting?

My Grandfather used to hunt with a slingshot. Back when I was a kid, we'd go for walks through the woods behind his house. He'd use me like a dog to flush out the rabbits and he'd pick them off as they ran with the slingshot. He could easily kill a rabbit at about 25 yards.

Jörg makes some really cool stuff... Here is a video of his slingshot crossbows:

If you check out his Youtube channel, he also makes more traditional style slingshots that are supposed to be very powerful and accurate.
I don't think he sells anything, he's just nuts about slingshots.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

I am just curious, was he using metal shot or pebbles he found along the way? Rabbit at 25 yards using virtually no man made resources sounds like it deserves to be in the doomsday kit!

He was a well experienced metal worker. The shot he cast himself from lead. The slingshot he cast himself at work from steel and he used surgical tubing for the sling. I remember as a kid the slingshot felt like it weighed 100 lbs. Too bad my uncle has it, this thread is making me want to try my hand at it again.

I've popped more than a couple grouse and ptarmigan using a wrist rocket and marbles but the Jorg fella looks like he's kicked it up to knotches unknown. How do you spell SSAD?

I used to have a slingshot.... Until I convince the other kids on the street to get them too and we had an all out war with paintball pellets as our ammo.

The street was purple for a month!

Needless to say my parents weren't happy with me.

I wonder if the slingshot is still hidden somewhere in the house.
