Ha! You Aussies are just sensitive about your version of Top Gear not being as good as the BBC version so you insult scotch drinkers and innocent Fosters drinkers. Budweiser better than Fosters? You gotta be kidding me. I will concede however that both Bud and Fosters must be very very cold to be enjoyed. But when I'm as dry as a nun's nasty a cold can of Fosters makes for some good neck oil.

Thanked: 983We do get BBC Top Gear hear as well you know?! Mannye, you're just going to have to try some better beers, come on mate! Try a Carlten Mid, Redback Original, Coopers Lager, Broo Lager, XXXX (Four ex), Victoria Bitter...All are good beers amd by no means the only good beers. I wouldn't pour a Fosters over my best mate if he was on fire...No matter how cold the beer was. My mates would thank me for it too, I reckon. A fiery death is a far kinder thing to suffer than a Fosters.
As far as the Scotch goes, I'm glad to hear it isn't the end of Mr Walker, but I will stick with my Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey type Whiskeys/Bourbons.

Don't worry! There's a place called Zeke's here in Miami Beach that has plenty of real beer from all over the world! Too bad no one here sells Holden HSV cars.. I'd buy one of those! Just don't tell my Road Runner...

Not a real loss there, except of course for the people who may lose their job.
Compared to even a low end malt whisky, JW Red is swill (imho).
The Green and Blue are very good whiskies though. But they are more expensive as well.
The red however... good riddance.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Johnny Red tastes like bad bourbon out of a plastic bottle imho so I completely agree with that. In my 20's Black was my scotch of choice until I tried Glenlevit 12 which is now my go-to after work drink.
But the fact remains that Red, Black, Green or Blue won't taste any different when they move that factory. I bet they have it down to a science how to get that signature taste. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if all but the most expensive and limited production spirits are produced by modern methods these days in bright white rooms full of lab-coated super geeks that use mechanical sniffers and judge the product on a chart rather than tastebuds.
(that should get the one guy that works in the business to stop lurking and refute my blasphemy)

Indeed. That is kinda the point of blended whiskies in the first place.
With Malt whiskies you could have differences, but seeing as companies like glen fiddich and JW produce such normous quantities, I think the differences between barrels in individual stills evens out between them.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
