Thanked: 28good point never thought of using 4 buck shot. I made some loads of my own years ago with split shot connected together with wire. Never had the guts to try to fire one of them.

Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

When choosing ammunition for your firearm, pick the firearm & ammunition that suits the job its intended for;
The environment it will be used in.
The type of threat expected.
Ease of operation.
etc.,,,,
The round you are describing is often referred to as a "Bolo" round,,, they are illegal in Florida & I believe NYC ,,, something to keep in mind.

Bolo rounds sitting in a drawer are O.K. in this scenario here in Florida, but load those Bolo rounds into a firearm & you have an instant felony of the 3rd degree, whether you use/fire the gun or not. That's the law in Florida. What I am saying is , look up the statutes in your state. Bolo rounds are not worth the trouble they can cause.

I've got a 12 gauge Winchester model 1897 riot gun, with 00 buck. I keep it locked up and just depend on whatever carry gun I have on me on a given day. I could visualize coming home to an intruder and I wouldn't want him to be pointing that thing at me.

I have my first Wilson on the way. Very excited, it is my 60th birthday present to myself. It is used but has almost every addition that I was going to order, except for night sights, but has a gold front bead and I was waivering between that and night sights. Also has the carry cuts that I was not going to order. About a thousand less and 12 months sooner than I expected. Can't wait.
