For years. I use three to four different settings. My wife cuts the neck. I do a better job than the "professionals" I used to pay.

I've been cutting it myself the last 15 years or so, below the lowest setting, I remove the comb and take it all down.

The only two people who have ever cut my hair are my father (who is a professional) and myself. Electric clippers; takes 5-10 minutes, I'd guess.

I have been cutting my own hair (on my head) since 2002, I am bald so it's not that hard. I think I saw John Denver cutting his hair with hand shears, or scissors in the movie "OH GOD", getting the back of your head by free hand takes skill, I think he was using a hanging mirror, mounted around his neck. Anything free hand takes a learned skill weither a little or alot, that's the difference between multiple balde razors with a guard (training wheels for shavers) or a free hand straight razor!
