(it's not that easy). Then you go to your stream and you start going through the gravel. it's that easy. if you want more involvement you can build a sluice and process larger amounts of gravel and they have all kinds of variations with just water operated and shakers and all that. Maybe you want to use high pressure water hoses to blast apart a hillside looking for gold or tunnel into a mountain.

The chances of finding something are slim and of coming out ahead of equipment and expenses slimmer still. Most areas of easy gold have been picked over in this country many many years ago. Go to Brazil or South Africa for better chances.

Best yet? Find a way to extract gold from sea water that's where most of the gold is. if you could invent an economically viable process you'd be the richest man in the world. Most gold mines have a gold content of 1% especially some of these really big digs in the U.S and Canada.
there are still alot of gold out there , i know guys in N.C. that have found over an ounce in a weekend , and out by you the chances are really good for nuggets !! todays advancement in metal detectors and equipment is way more proficient then back then , under boulders in dried up stream beds out your way that can be moved with a winch or big spud bar can produce well!! but i agree on cost to pay out for the most part ..lol.. you can find gold with about $30-$50 in equipment , but who stops there ..lol.. ive got about $2000.00 into it and have bout $200 in gold but it is being out there , the chance to find other materials as well as gold , self satisfaction , relaxation , and a chance for the whole family to enjoy a few hours on a creek that make it great !! and the family time far out weighs anything that you might find in that pan !!!
