A person's home defense shotgun should be treated no different than an M4 carbine.

I'm stuck with this old beater ....... Winchester Model of 1897 riot shotgun. Elmer Keith called it,"The greatest alley cleaner of them all." This copy is a 'takedown' made in 1940. What I'd really like is a Kel-tec KSG. Holds 12 rounds with an 18" bbbl.

While I don't own one, I'd love to have a Winchester Model 12 Trench Gun!!

Pull the trigger ONCE keep the trigger back and just keep pumping!

The local police had them several years ago, I'd have to check to see what they (updated?) to!

My Dad had a civilian model for hunting and it was awesome!

They made take downs with the '94 lever action, and the model 12 shotgun also. Maybe others but I don't remember.

The model 97 also has that feature. You can send lead downrange really fast. The later model shotguns all had an "interrupter' to prevent the unlikely unintentional discharge after the first shot.

Jimmys 97 is the benchmark of all the riots,in the late 50s you could buy them WW2 surplus thru the NRA for $28.00 Ea with full ordanance and paperwork,1911 45s were $50.M1 carbines,$35.Garands $55,thousand rnds of ball ammo $35.
Win. model 12s are the best of the best for pumps (pre 1972) as are the little mod.42 .410s.
My fave is the last all steel shotgun (auto) win made, the Mod.50,still affordable, and like an AK,they never fail.
Believe all Mod. 12s were takedowns.

I really like the 870. Have owned and fired just about all the rest though and don't discount many of them for intended purposes. Have a few 870s and a neat little 18in. Model 11 Remington. That thing is FUN!

Not a 'riot gun' but I wouldn't mind having one of these when the riot came along ......
