    Default Watercolor Art Help.

Hey guys, I was yard sale hunting today, looking for the Holy Grail of wetshaving. I don't know what that would be, but I'm sure I will recognize it when I see it.

I saw this framed picture that looked nice, so I thought that I would hang it in the Shave Den (small cramped bathroom). I got the picture & 2 paperback books for $3.00.

In the car I noticed that the picture could be an original watercolor by a lady named Carol Jean Green. I don't know if it is an original or a copy. I don't know anything about art.

What do I look for to see if this is an original.

I worked my GOOGLE FU with little success. I only found one original for her & some signed copies.

    Thanks for looking guys.

Hi, hope this helps. It's kind of hard with the new digital printing techniques like gicleé and all that, but the paper might feel old on sight, maybe some yellowing, obviously no printer's dots. The link below I found pretty good. #2 mentions watercolor. I studied art but it's not easy unless I could see it.

Don't no anything about water colors but its a pretty picture. It's good to see another subject other then hones, scales, and brushes on this site:-)

Hmmmm sought after buy collectors world wide ? I searched and found this. Looks like the same style to me. Maybe the seller has more info ? Pretend your buying and you may learn a lot. This is not selling for chump change. Original Watercolor by Carol J Green California Artist Famed for Her Work | eBay

Some search engines work better for certain things.

OH and be careful with that !!!

    Blasphemer!!

Hirlau, pfries and Brettnj like this.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

If you soaked it in water and the paint dissolved then you would know it was an original.

And to think,,,, the q-tip idea made me cringe ! If you take a shower and get it all steamy in the shave den you would know to ! The plants would all be on the floor.
