    Hi Carl
I wear boots everyday as much for orthopedic reasons as general comfort. My brand is Red Wing 8inch oil-tanned(they are made in Minnesota). With two pair they are alternated. They do not look as stylish as your intended but will last many, many years and come with lifetime warranties for eyelets, laces and stitching. I also have a 9 inch pair of insulated waterproofed that are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. My 6 inch Red Wings are for yard work.

Are you wearing boots for work? Why boots (non-cowboy) over shoes?

    Dave

I think its the little buckle that does it, possibly a bit delicate looking, but nice none the less, I like the laceups, though would be nice if they had eyelets all the way rather than hooks at the top. I think the laceups are a more traditional look and would be my choice.
Do you have one pair of shoes for each outfit you own? :-)
Would be nice to be able to try them on too so you know they are a good fit.
Sorry Carl don't mean to be negative, if you like them get them, there will always be someone who will want to knock your choices so just go for it.
I have always liked an ankle boot over a shoe, but rarely have an opportunity to dress up, most of my time is spent in hi-vis, or shorts and thongs, what with work, gardening etc, did buy myself a new pair of mother if pearl cufflinks in broome recently though, so maybe style is in the way in in the house of Hewitt.

Form my experience if your partner doesn't like something you wear it doesn't end up worn very often :-)

How bout some custom RMW's Carl? Comfiest boots I have ever worn!

Out of the two options you have posted though, I think I like the ASOS ones better.

Now that would be good. I thought about it long and hard but didn't have the money.

Boot of the day? Here's mine.

    "Boot of the day"

I am very happy with my RM Williams boots. Got a free Dryskin jacket thrown in as well.

It is important to me to try them on before purchasing, maybe I have odd shape feet.

Yes, I wear them for work. I work in a prison so I want something very functional but stylish (I'm not an Officer (guard))... Plus I just like boots over shoes. Sometimes I get annoyed by shoes ands that gap that can occur between the top of the shoe and the ankle...

Delicate! Bastard! I have a pair of nice black boots that I wear with very dark grey (almost black) trousers, and one can't wear brown boots with black trousers and a black belt. The ones I have are a size 42 and they fit fine. Most online places seem to allow a return. unfortunately a similar pair as the cheaper boots in a show would be about 250.
