I think its the little buckle that does it, possibly a bit delicate looking, but nice none the less, I like the laceups, though would be nice if they had eyelets all the way rather than hooks at the top. I think the laceups are a more traditional look and would be my choice.
Do you have one pair of shoes for each outfit you own? :-)
Would be nice to be able to try them on too so you know they are a good fit.
Sorry Carl don't mean to be negative, if you like them get them, there will always be someone who will want to knock your choices so just go for it.
I have always liked an ankle boot over a shoe, but rarely have an opportunity to dress up, most of my time is spent in hi-vis, or shorts and thongs, what with work, gardening etc, did buy myself a new pair of mother if pearl cufflinks in broome recently though, so maybe style is in the way in in the house of Hewitt.

Form my experience if your partner doesn't like something you wear it doesn't end up worn very often :-)

How bout some custom RMW's Carl? Comfiest boots I have ever worn!

Out of the two options you have posted though, I think I like the ASOS ones better.

Now that would be good. I thought about it long and hard but didn't have the money.

Delicate! Bastard! I have a pair of nice black boots that I wear with very dark grey (almost black) trousers, and one can't wear brown boots with black trousers and a black belt. The ones I have are a size 42 and they fit fine. Most online places seem to allow a return. unfortunately a similar pair as the cheaper boots in a show would be about 250.

I remember as a kid watching the movie, Romancing the stone, with Michael Douglas and Kathleen turner. Michael Douglas's character goes after a crocodile that bites off the bad guys hand while hes holding a huge emerald. He catches the croc, gets the emerald out of him and has a pair of boots made out of the croc. Ever since that movie I've always wanted a pair of croc boots or alligator boots. They look pretty sweet!!!

IIRC, I believe it was at a Mexican airport, there was a high end custom boot making guy. He had a few gator boots. I checked them out and of course they were an astronomical price.

I still want my Gator boots!!!!
Any of you guys own some Gator or Croc boots???

Aww c'mon don't be like that, I am sure you are man enough to pull them off and not look like a cowgirl, provided you stay away from gingham shirts and Denim hotpants. FYI I am indeed a bastard, was born out of wedlock father a priest (either catholic or C of E, can't really remember, don't really understand all the flavours of Christianity and frankly dont want to) Bet you weren't expecting that.:-)

Thanks to the power of google, I can confirm - Roman Catholic.

Oh for goodness sakes, you just don't know when to stop, do you? So, tell me, what's wrong with denim hotpants!?!
I had my little heart set on some real nice ones with some real purdy embroidery...

I don't really LIKE RMs, and they're a bit common here. Italian boots when you live in South Australia is so much more interesting than just another pair of RMs...

But now my whole new dilemma is what colour trousers? The two ladies at work I asked about the boots said in their opinion they looked fine; but said not with grey trousers. One said black and I'm SURE brown boots with black trousers is heresy, but maybe I just don't know anything. Now I'm getting all depressed about the whole deal, esp as the Aussie dollar seems to be committing a slow suicide...
