Phenomenal work! How were you able to put such a fine polish on your blades with only a bench grinder? I could see it possible if it was a flat grind or complete wedge. Buffing wheel w/ various grits of compound perhaps?

It's simple - by hand sanding.

I draw file and block sand my knives my hand, but don't see how you'd do it on a hollow grind and keep everything even unless you're using a shaped piece of wood that conforms to the initial grind. Before I block sanded my knives would turn out blotchy. What sort of setup are you using?

    Very simple. One of these

I think I seen that trick on some Lewis video.

I had to replace the radiator hose on my wife's car a couple years ago and I noticed it was about the same diameter as the radius of a hollow razor. I shaped a broom handle to fit inside (shaped it a bit oval for different shapes) tightly and it works like a champ. About to use it with some knives that I roughed out the other day, handy booger.

I like the cork idea for two reasons: cork is a perfect backer & it gives me a good reason to obtain another cork! Kinda feeling like a Reisling right now...
