DM-006_Damaskus - K510 core san-mai
Hi to all,
I start to work on my new razor.
First of all I have to make some damaskus.
For damask I used 15N20 and mild steel
All welded together
And all that into forge on 1300 °C
After welding I strecht them to plate 30 cm long. Cut it on 4 pieces, clean it weld it together and again to forge.
Afer that I strech that plate on 20 cm long and cut it on half. Put silversteel (Bohler K510) in midle and back to forge.
This is what I get
249 layers in total.
With help from my forum friends in Croatia I decide to work on this design...

Design was ready to copy on steel...
After some rough grinding...
Dimension check
After some free-hand grinding on wheel 150mm, P80, P150, P240
I hope this is not to much pictures for you guys.
I ordered checkering file and now I have to wait to put some grip serrations on handle and drill pin hole.
After that blade will be anneled, hardened and tempered. But this is new story.
