I like the style of your blade looks great enjoy the rest of your journey. I am starting trying my hand at blade making and it is so much fun! So many options of style to think about. Good luck with the rest of it.

Thanked: 1184More RSO s and away I go.
I got up this morning and a few commitments cancelled , Yeeaahhhhhh!
So I got 2 bars of O1 yesterday and put some Dykem on em and started scratching away this morning. I asked for some design help from my friends some of which may be beyond my capabilities right now but I'll see what I can do :<0) Love a challenge really.
So far I got these blanks carved out and have 3 more to do.
I don't like firing up the forge and certainly not the new oven without enough testing material to justify the cost. Maybe I am asking for trouble but with all the good advice I have gotten I am betting at least half of these will turn out okay.
Be Back later as things progress.Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Thanked: 1184End of the day shot, more tomorrow.
Tangs are still fat and I am sneaking up on the other details. I put a 1/16 sway in the spine of the 1 on top and the material is 1" wide soooooo... If I decide to make 8/8 blades or bigger I will have to fire the forge tomorrow and pound the edge out before I hollow anymore blades or make any more sways. As it is they will be 7/8 if I don't. I already drilled in the pivot holes. I may make 3 wider tomorrow before I continue with the grinding.
Then again I may nap, watch football, and visit with friends :<0)Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
