I originally looked at the WEG set ups also but they were over double the price

The motor was comparable to what I paid, but yes, I could have bought 2 & 1/3 of your VFD with what I paid for their bottom range VFD. I ummed and arrred but went with it anyway.

Aaaahhh the sacrilege, had to work the weekend along with 12 hour plus days for the last week odd & the rest of this week, be alright if I got paid for any overtime.
    either way back on track
unfortunately not much fab completed on the grinder since the last post, but I have got all but 1 of my drill bits & taps found ready,

Bonus was I got home last night & had a parcel from GAMECO on the table to open.

an assortment of 72x2" belts to, some steel marking dye, some forging tongs, & a great deal on some Powdered 1085 metal to experiment with later down the track.
hopefully everything will be back to normal early next week so I should get the time to finish the grinder off .

Killed some time waiting for tender reviews today drilled, tapped, tacked and welded the main body, just the tension shocks, tracking wheel set up, the stand and then a platan and maybe a tool rest to work on next week after work, all going well,

Powdered 1085? What are you going to use that for?

As spoonfuls of "Harden up" instead of cement for the kids LOL

Nah use it as a gap filler for making ball bearing & chain type Damascus, as mentioned later down the track

more progress, most of the main grinder is structurally & mechanically complete, bar some tweeting,
need to shorten the post & add some height adjustment & locking bolts & holes.

    Wiring to VFD & Motor
Sort & cut down the over length bolts to suit actual
    mount my Tension push handle
add wheels & feet to the stand

    strip it all apart,

    Spruce it all up

put it back together again ready to go

    options to complete
    Make a Small wheel arm
    Make a work rest
