Default Parks 50, where can I find it

I have been using brine for my 1095 blades and want to give Parks 50 a whirl. Where can I find some?

Google Browning gunsmith supply - not sure that is the correct sequence of words. Maybe USA Knife Makers caries it.

I just got an answer, this is why you can't find "Parks 50", because Parks was bought out:

    Good morning, Scott,

We do carry the #50 Quench Oil in 5 gallon pails for $92.01 + shipping via UPS (or FedEx Ground if you prefer).

The #50 Quench Oil is a fast quenchant, in the 7-9 second laboratory range. It is very commonly used in the knifesmithing community. It is manufactured by Heatbath Corporation (which many years ago purchased Park Metallurgical), and has a long, long history of being the preferred fast quenchant.

We would love to set you up with a pail. Just let us know, and we will take care of you!

I bought 5 gallons of #50 from a retired knife maker about 6-7 years ago and I'll still take half that with me to my grave .

Be sure to warn the undertaker in advance. Otherwise the cremation is bound to be full of excitement.

    It's on it's way!:

The UPS charges to your 74738 zip code would be # 28.82, for a total invoice amount of $120.83.

Let us know if you need anything else!

That's way better service than Parks Metallurgical ever gave most of the small sized buyer type people who tried to get oils from them. Good job connecting the lost dots for that oil.

It's in the carport, ready for use! I'm very pleased with the customer service via email and telephone. They ship quick!

Shipping you a wet piece of dog poop after charging your credit card $100 and cursing your mother would qualify as better customer service than what Parks/Heatbath gave the little guy because it wold imply that they were actually willing to deal with you in any manner at all. Maxim much mo' better.
