Thanked: 522Ornate pinning

I'm not sure about the catalog, I was at the actual store. Check out the brand name "Nicole" or "Nichole" - not sure of the spelling....
I just pinned a Solace razor with very dark green scales - they appear to be black but holding them to a light reveals the deep sensual green. I'll try to attach a pic or two.
Repinning always gives us a chance to clean and polish the inside surface of the scales. This often proves to be very necessary. It certainly was this time.

I sent mrsell63 a PM about this, but there are alot of these on ebay under "findings" or "bead caps". The just a few of the sellers names on ebay are " gem-home568" and "findingqueen". The only problem is they are out of China. They have findings in just about every metal they are made out of.

Thanked: 522mrsell63 says:
Most all razors seem to be pinned with a 1/16 brass or nickel-silver rod. This calls for a #0 SS flat washer or brass washer or a brass fender washer of the 1/16 ID variety.
There are other pinning options like button head cap screws with nuts and a some other variations.
I don't know if I am authorized to tell you this but if you PM "cannonfodder", he might share some very pertinent pinning info with you regarding pin supply sources.
If anyone comes up with good info for sources, please share it with us..................Thanks

Thanked: 1936I have found some very simular at Hobby Lobby. Some are kept in a locked cabinet. I picked up some for third pin's & may look into buying some of the sterling silver in the locked cabinets sometime...

Thanked: 13246A few hints on these,
Not all are metal, some are plastic and just break
Using them on the wedge end or the center pin works pretty good but, IME using them on the pivot pin is not so good, especially if you want the razor tight, and not floppy...
Hobby Lobby is a good source, so are some Ben Franklin stores, check the weekend paper for "Bead Shows" too....
